If there’s one crew guaranteed to bring an outstanding piece of machinery to the Tour of Mull each year, then it has to be John & Caroline Price. I remember being completely in awe of the sights (and sounds!) of John’s Duckhams QXR liveried 6R4 on one of my early trips to Mull, and he’s been unleashing a steady trickle of said beasts on the island ever since!
The 2003 event saw John compete in his Ferodo/Champion sponsored Metro 6R4, finished in third overall, second in class. There’s nothing quite like hearing John Price coming down Glen Aros flat out! Trust me, that’s a sound you will never forget! Just as pleasurable is watching the experienced crew push on through the Tobermory-Dervaig hairpins.
If you want to drool over some serious machinery, and have a look at John’s impressive results over the years, visit: www.johnpricerallying.co.uk
We couldn’t resist putting in a picture of one of John’s earlier offerings, so here’s a picture of John and Caroline in the Duckhams QXR liveried 6R4 pushing on through Mishnish Lochs in the early nineties.
