Members of Stockport Motor Club have been actively involved with the Tour of Mull for many years, both as competitors and as support staff. The Club was founded in 1903 as The New Stockport & District Motor Cycle & Light Car Club and is the third oldest motor club in the country. The Club help to organise numerous motor sport events and run their own successful stage rally at Weeton Army Camp.
Club members have achieved great success as drivers and co-drivers in all levels of competition in this country and throughout the world. They utilise cars ranging from the immensely successful Escorts and Sunbeams to the latest four wheel drive, turbocharged World Rally Cars. The Club is also extensively involved in officiating, timekeeping and marshalling on numerous motor sport events around the country.
