Pierre Newton & Dan Simcock

Pierre Newton & Dan Simcock are relative newcomers to the Tour of Mull having just the 2005 event under their belts. In fact, the Tour of Mull was their first stage rally ever! It’s hardly the type of event most crews would choose for their first foray so there’s no doubting this teams commitment! What’s more, they got a finish on their very first outing (which you can read all about in the rally section).

Driver · Pierre Newton

Pierre has been a familiar face on Mull for over ten years helping many other crews. After competitive exploits in karts and road rallying Pierre decided it was time to have done with it and have a go at ‘a proper job’. As such, much of the last two years have been spent re-building a newly purchased Peugeot rally car in preparation for the Tour Of Mull.

Navigator · Dan Simcock

After several years helping as chase/support crew for other teams on Mull, and after taking the co-drivers seat during Pierre’s road rallying exploits, Dan was just as eager to take the step up to accompany Pierre in stage rallying and co-built the new rally car.

Engine: 1905cc 16v, Big green bosch injectors, chipped, ported head. Grp N engine mounts. Transmission: Suspension: 309 GTi front wishbones, front and rear bilstein suspension. Brakes: 4 Pot Fronts, 2 Pot rears. Braided fuel/brake lines, roof vent from rallytech, electronic dash supplied by coni electronics, poly carbonate windows supplied by auto glaze ltd.
